SafeTravelUSA is a collection of hundreds of images captured from https://www.safetravelusa.com/ from June to October 2020.

Other than traffic enforcement cameras, live traffic cameras are installed to inform people of road conditions. Looking through these cameras, I came across a number of unusual traffic surveillance images: Some were full of glitches and distortions, or just words like “IMAGE NOT AVAILABLE”. Others were aiming at utility poles, lighted houses, trees, sun, and even mountains. By selecting and arranging, I utilize these poor and disregarded images to fulfil a (virtual) journey across America.

P.S Out of 50 states, 12 are excluded because they are hardly-captured video streams.

不同于交通执法摄像头，实时交通摄像头为民众提供道路信息以方便人们出行。浏览这些摄像头时，我发现了许多不寻常的交通监控图像。其中一些满是故障和扭曲，或者仅仅只有“图像无法加载”这几个字；其他的则对准了电线杆、亮着光的房子、树、太阳甚至是山。通过选择和排列这些“坏”的、被忽视的图像，我完成了一次穿越美国的（虚拟）旅行。
